Amazon CARES deals with rescued and abandoned litters almost every day. Through our stray dog spay / neuter programs we are helping to reduce the overpopulation of animals in Iquitos and the surrounding Amazon region.

Like many stray and abandoned animals in the Amazon region, Aida baked in the sun with scaly, naked skin from mange.  Her life was one of discomfort and pain. Her flesh was hardened and scarred.  Her eyes are a study in misery.  Her story is all the more shocking in that she had a family that neglected her to this extent.  Amazon CARES intervened and she is now healthy and happy in a loving home.
